In 1896, Hubei Province made a silver coin of seven cents and two cents for Guangxu Yuanbao Kuping, a famous silver coin in circulation, which was cast and circulated in the city by Hubei Silver Bureau in imitation of Guangdong Silver Dollar. When it was first cast, the word “this province” was embedded around Longtu to show that it was different from other provinces. However, when it was taken back and recast, the word “this province” was removed, and only a handful of them survived until now.
