The core collection of Liangyi Tibetan Museum includes two categories: about 400 pieces of antique furniture from China in Ming and Qing Dynasties and more than 800 pieces of European jewelry and cosmetic boxes and handbags. Antique furniture in Ming and Qing dynasties is mainly made of huanghuali and rosewood, spanning more than 500 years, and its collection began in the 1980s. European jewelry and cosmetic boxes and handbags come from Cartier, Bao Shilong, Van Cleef & Arpels and other brands, and their ages span from 1880s to 1960s, and some of them are orphans.
The Liangyi Tibetan Museum, a private museum, opened its permanent site in hollywood road in 2014. Other collections include Japanese art and design and western silverware. Unlike typical museums, most of the exhibits in the museum are allowed to touch and encourage interactive experience.
